Well, now we have the final answer who won the acquisition battle for Rapha. I thought it should be LVMH.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing for us riders. It reminds me of the Manchester United acquisition by Glazer family, another sports acquisition in the UK by U.S. capital.
I know Simon, the founder and CEO of Rapha, is an industry person of passion and enthusiasm. He gave up the decent job in a branding consulting firm and started Rapha when nobody thought it could be a serious business. He created this niche market that meets the demand for stylish cycling apparel. I've tried all different brands of cycling apparels, and Rapha is no doubt my favorite.
Do you have any Rapha products? How do you think of this acquisition?
