Last week, I raced in La Marmotte.
For those who don't know, that's a 172km Grandfondo with 5000m of elevation spread out over 4 Col's in the French Alps. The mountains are Tour de France mainstays such as the Col de Glandon, Col du Telegraphe, Col de Galibier and finally the infamous L'Alpe d'Huez.
This year was my 3rd entry and by far my best shot.
I finished the course in 8hrs 9mns, which was a 1h 55mns improvement over last year (Yes, that's a massive difference) But that got me thinking. How far can I get if I really give it my all for a year. In the past 6 months I've only trained about 3000km, mainly due to a lack of time/motivation to train harder. I'm easily pleased with what I do. It's easily my worst trait.
To overcome that, I've decided to make a vlog. A weird conclusion perhaps, but I believe that a viewersbase of people that care about cycling and what I do will motivate me to do better than ever before.
I'll probably also use the channel for videos about the SpeedX Unicorn Di2 that I ordered. Including an unboxing and some consumer level reviews.
Here's the first video:
